Sponsor Luv! Featuring @travel_babbles @hockeywife_22 @coyoteshipcheck @hipchecks & Tex (who isn't on twitter )

Well folks it's getting to the end of the month and the end of my free sponsor promos! So this will be my last sponsorship post (for now at least). I'd like to introduce you to the rest of my leading ladies!

I'd like to start by introducing you to my favorite hockey wives!

(I'm not so sure she appreciates me calling her Tex, but it just kinda happened that way :)

This is a blog that you do NOT want to miss. From lessons in German curse words to the Storyteller's Blog Hop - you won't want to miss a single post! Take a few moments to read over her About Me page. Her wedding story is phenomenal!

This is Kimmy!
(another nickname :)

Kimmy isn't "officially" a hockey wife yet - but the wedding will be here before you know it! I have gotten a lot of inspiration from Kimmy and her blog - Travel Babbles - in the short amount of time I've "known" her. She challenges me, inspires me and keeps me laughing.

This is Hockey Wife's blog
(no nickname there really - she's an anonymous blogger... shhhh :)

A blogger I met online - and now call "friend". This woman is amazing! If you've ever wondered what life married to a professional athlete is like - grab a cup of coffee and cuddle up with your laptop on the couch - A Day In The Life of a Hockey Wife brings you the ups, downs and everything in between! My favorite is reading about the never-ending adventures of Linden, her hockey crazed son!

Next up: My Bestie!

Another Coyotes blogger - and my best friend! Her hockey insight is definitely top notch - check her out!

Last - but in no way least - we have CoyotesHipCheck!

Another of my best friends - she is better known in our little circle as Mama Z. Her blog is full of great information about the Phoenix Coyotes and the ups and downs of being a Coyotes fan in this lovely "non-traditional hockey market" of ours.

I hope you'll take a moment to check these blogs out - all of them are fabulous!

Happy Friday!

Ownership (Non) Update

There's not much to update at this point. I'm certain that's there's plenty of things going on - but we aren't privy to that information at this point. I don't want to feed in to the speculation and tell you what all the mysterious "sources" have been reporting to the various media outlets - so I'll just stick with the facts:

According to the Globe & Mail - Bill Daly has said that
“Goldwater is not even a factor in this for us any more. We are not trying to structure a deal to satisfy them. We are trying to structure a deal that can close.”
This comes on the tails of the meeting held last week between the Goldwater Institute and the City of Glendale in an attempt to "resolve their differences" in concern to the deal in place with potential Coyotes owner Matt Hulsizer and city. Now dubbed "The Cupcake Summit" - the meeting was quite useless. If you feel like smacking yourself on the head repeatedly, you can find audio of the meeting here. If you'd just like to read Goldwater Institute's list of "concerns" and their proposed solutions (which quite frankly were rather telling of their ignorance on the situation) - they can be found here.

Now for my thoughts on the "Cupcake Summit". I listened to it all - call me a glutton for punishment, but I pressed through. The part that stuck out the most to me was a "solution" Darcy Olsen proposed regarding the Tohono O’odham tribes casino they'd like to construct not far from Jobing.com arena.

A lawsuit has been filed against the tribe in an attempt to keep the casino from being built. Darcy mentioned that the tribe would be willing to invest in the Coyotes purchase if the city would drop the lawsuit and allow them to build the casino. I don't know about you - but that sounds like blackmail to me...

Whether or not you agree with the building of the casino (you can read why Glendale opposes it here and here) the fact that Goldwater even brought such a thing up seems extremely fishy to me.

It's also noteworthy to mention that the Glendale "tea party" - that has voiced their opposition to the sale of the Coyotes and their support of Goldwater, is also in favor of the casino being built

Back to the Coyotes - there were also some reports of a meeting between Gary Bettman and valley sports mogul Jerry Colangelo - and some speculation that Bettman was asking him to contribute financially to the deal. Those reports were proven false however - Mr. Colangelo did voice his support of the team remaining in Arizona.

Hopefully this whole mess gets resolved soon - if anything else of interest arises, I'll keep you all updated!

Eliminated.

A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words...

We love ya boys & we still believe it - next season is OURS!

It's never easy to lose a playoff series. It's especially tuff to be swept right out of the playoffs. It's even harder to handle when you don't know if your team will be returning next season or not.

Yesterday the City of Glendale, Goldwater Institute and potential Coyotes owner Matt Hulsizer met in an attempt to "work out their differences". It turned into a bitch session - with Goldwater's Darcy Olsen making herself look more like the idiot that she is.

In case you'd like to hear the ridiculousness for yourself (I don't recommend it - I wanted to spork my eyes out while listening to her) you can find more information and the links to the audio of the meeting here.

I honestly don't know what is going to happen - or what, if anything, the Coyotes Coalition can do to help at this point.

After listening to that meeting I say to Glendale: sell the bonds, we'll see Goldwater in court. These people aren't logical and therefore aren't going to listen to logic.

And the cupcakes? Come on Darcy... Give me a break. Save the cupcakes for the 600+ people who are going to be out of jobs because you refuse to listen to reason. Save the cupcakes for the citizens of Glendale who will get to foot the bill for that arena for the next 30 years.

They're going to need them.

Some Links & Other Awesomeness

First of all - I'd just like to say... that it seems every time I start to freak out about the rumors, I go write a blog post about it, then later that day we hear news. In yesterday's case, it was (somewhat) good news.

Here's some links:

Glendale Mayor To Meet With Goldwater On Coyotes

Let's hope that meeting on Thursday goes well - if you're the praying kind, I certainly could use some thoughts and prayers. To some losing a hockey team might not seem like that big of a deal. Well... it is to me!

Now - with this new information perhaps Coyotes fans AND players can go into tonight's game 4 against the Red Wings with a bit more zest and enthusiasm than we've seen over the past few games. Well the fans weren't exactly lacking enthusiasm - but the majority of the team has been up until this point. The two major exceptions being Kyle Turris and Shane Doan. Both Kyle and Shane have been shining in the playoffs thus far. They alone deserve a house full of loud Coyotes fans tonight!

Speaking of the Red Wings - I have found something that you are going to absolutely LOVE Coyotes fans...

It's too bad I didn't find him sooner - because this shirt collection would've been great for this playoff series!

Original5.com
It's no secret that I despise the Red Wings - I believe I've made that fairly clear on here. Well - so does this guy. I'd like you to meet Mark DeFlorio:

Overcoming a penalty kill is one of the keys to being a successful hockey team. A team has to be as strong five on four as it is at full strength. But what if you were on a permanent penalty kill, as if you were down one of your five senses? Hockey fanatic Mark DeFlorio overcame his own personal penalty kill after complications from a blood clot in his brain left him legally blind.
Since becoming blind DeFlorio started Original5.com, an online retailer that makes anti-Detroit Red Wings apparel, home and office, and promotional products. Original5 was an ambition of DeFlorio’s before the blindness and much like a hockey team, ambition to win a game doesn’t diminish just because they are short handed.
“Original 5 was my dream and even though I can’t see perfectly, that wasn’t reason enough to find someone else to do the work. I print all the shirts, hats, and home and office products myself. My own two hands do it all. That is how I make the best of my four senses,” said DeFlorio.
Since incorporation in 2009, Original5.com has been growing its products and brand loyalty. The initial product line of t-shirts has now expanded to include new shirt designs, winter gear, and products for a home or office. Original5.com is planning the initial stages of a coast to coast promotional roll out.

Go check out some of his stuff! We'll need it next season I'm sure :)

Terrible...

I'm not sure which is worse - this "playoff run" we're having - or the reincarnated relocation rumors swirling around our team. Which, I'm sure, aren't helping this "playoff run".

I'm tired... whatever is going to happen - let it happen. I have no control over it and neither do any of the rest of us. We had a full house last night - too little too late. I've been trying to get the folks in this Valley to support this team for the past 2 years and now they show up. I hear excuse after excuse... I don't want to hear JACK if this team moves. I don't want to hear anything from anyone... anywhere. Here's hoping the NHL really is as dedicated to this market as they say they are - because if I were them I'd not be impressed at the moment.

Just either get the deal done or make your relocation announcement. I can't deal with another season of this. I can't deal with every single announcer, press member, etc not being able to talk about my team without adding their own little snarky comments in on our ownership situation. I get it... It's f*cked up. You're not bothering the NHL with your comments - but you are torturing the poor fans who do support this franchise. So SHUT IT already. You've ruined our playoffs this year... What could possibly be the last ones we'll ever get to enjoy in our town - so thanks for that. We appreciate your kindness.

THIS particular article REALLY stuck in my craw this morning. Really Denver... Really??? I expect it from Canada - they are notorious for posting whatever they want without basing it on real facts. But not you - I thought far better of you. I suppose I expect too much...

Until we hear it from the NHL - I'm not buying it. So you can leave me lots of comments I won't post informing me of the exact date the move of my team back to Winnipeg will be announced (they've all come and gone so far) and the proposed "ticket drive" for Winnipeg. I've heard that before too. You can drive all you want - doesn't necessarily mean that it's going to matter. You see where all the "driving" last time got you.

The good news is that the Neanderthals *Red Wings fans weren't as bad as usual last night. At least not in my section. Apparently they were not on their best behavior in other sections of the arena... Word is that there was a fight  after the final buzzer and some Neanderthal  *guy who was a fan of the Red Wings beat up a female Coyotes fan. Classy...

Bring on Wednesday. Let's get the massacre over with already.

Welcome To The Weekend!

The Blog Entourage

Seems like a fitting blog hop for hockey fans.
Seriously - some of ya'll are just plain CRAZY!
Just sayin'...

So today the boys are going to put it down in Detroit and hopefully get a W heading back home for Monday's game 3. Here's a round-up of some informative articles from around the web regarding the Coyotes playoff run, the ownership situation and anything else I felt was relevant...

Playoffs Start Tonight!

THE PLAYOFFS START TODAY!!!
In Detroit. I'm so nervous - I think I may throw up. Hopefully the players are in better shape emotionally than I am. They are professionals - they don't get nervous right???

RIGHT?!?

Just in case - I'll be wearing the Kyle jersey (it hasn't lost a game yet!) and doing all my other pre-game psycho hockey fan rituals. And I will most definitely be screaming at the TV!

GO COYOTES!!!

Last Regular Season Home Game Tonight!

Well tonight is the last home game of the regular season. The boys haven't been able to clinch that playoff spot yet - but it could happen tonight. I hope to see a full house tonight - they deserve it!

Here's to another one of these...

{bing images}
Which leads me to ask this - how do you feel about the WhiteOut tradition Coyotes fans?

Personally - I think we need a new tradition once we get a new owner in place (I'm remaining optimistic - despite the lack of news as of late). The WhiteOut was Winnipeg's thing - we need our own thing.

Bring on the SandStorm!
