The Contract Has Expired!!!

Ladies and gentlemen, the Diva is pleased to announce that the contract between the Flames and the Coyotes has EXPIRED! We are no longer required to be their bitches... We had a GLORIOUS win in Calgary last night. Which was much needed. Calgary was looking to achieve their 5th victory over the Coyotes, having won their last 4 games against the Coyotes. The Flames were 15-3-1 in the series since Feb. 23, 2003. But NO MORE! The Coyotes came out fighting last night and kicked some Flamin' ASS!!

The Diva is pleased...

Derek Morris got the scoring started in the first period with his first goal of the season (and what a beauty it was!). Viktor Tikhonov and Martin Hanzal both assisting on that goal. Next came Captain Coyote scoring his 7th of the season, assisted by Peter Mueller and Olli Jokinen. In the 2nd period, Ed Jovanovski scored his first of the season (which is good news for his stick, that was apparently in pain :). Jovo's goal was assisted by Doan and Mueller. Finally, Steve Reinprecht scored at the tail end of the 2nd period, notching his 300th NHL career point. GO REINO! Reino's goal was assisted by Porter & Boedker.

Now... I love Kyle Turris as much as the next fan however, I don't believe that he is quite ready for the big time just yet. Recently called up from San Antonio, Center Garth Murray played his heart out last night. I think I'd like to see more of him. I say we let KT sit in the press box for a bit...

Murray's fight...

& here's an oldie but a goodie some of you might enjoy, just for shits n giggles...

  1. I couldn't be happier that contract expired ;)

Don't go count Turris out just yet. Lets see how he does in front of his hometown crowd tomorrow and give him a few more games to prove himself. The benching worked miracles for Mueller last year, maybe Turris will get the message too.

  2. I still love KT, I just think he needs to put forth some more effort. I'm not convinced that he wants it...

  3. Looks like Rich got in a few good punches there at the start. But Murray totally owned him at the end! :)

  4. I think he wants it, or at least I hope he does.
Maybe hes just down on himself for not living up to the expectations.

  5. Well, that... and I think maybe this isn't living up to his expectations either. Welcome to real life Kyle, it rarely lives up to all the hype. Even for professional athletes... He's playing like he's distracted. I'm thinking he's probably missing his family/girlfriend a lot right now. Which is how life in the NHL goes... so we'll see if he can snap out of it.

  6. Yeah you're probably right on that.
I can't believe they didn't let him play against Vancouver. Sad. It was the right call because murray had a great game in Calgary but you would think they would find someone else to scratch.
