There are many things that I want to say right now...

But there are no words that can adequately describe what I am feeling - so I will keep this short...

We have now lost three amazing men this summer.

Men who were dedicated to their fans, the NHL and the teams they played for.

Most importantly - they were husbands, sons, fathers, brothers, lovers, friends, grandchildren...

My heart breaks for the families of Derek Boogaard, Rick Rypien and now Wade Belak.

Their families, friends, fans and the NHL as a whole is left with a void that can't be filled.

I mourn the lives they had ahead of them - the additional people they could have impacted - and the broken hearts they've left behind.

"Gone too soon" is an understatement.

  1. So, so sad. Sad that help was not there for these guys. My only hope is that something good can come out of this. That people can see that there is a problem and help can be found. My thoughts go to all the families affected.

  2. I normally don't keep up with hockey but did hear about this because it happened three times in the same sport. Hard to know what to say except that God had bigger plans for them. I am a new follower from the blog hop and I am following you thru GFC, RSS Feed and Twitter. I cannot follow thru FB right now and its a long story so please check out my post dated August 20th on the Weekend Blog Hops. As soon as they take care of it I can follow. I will leave it up to you if you want to follow me now or wait until I can follow you first. Either way I understand. Follow what you can and I will be happy! Thanks so much and have a great day!
