Coalition Update 3/10/2011 Radio Show!

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to send out a quick note to let you know that KXXT 1010 AM Breakthrough Sports radio is hosting a very special Coyotes show tomorrow afternoon. The show runs from 2-4 however, the entire last hour of the show will be dedicated to the Coyotes.

For those of you who are new to the Coalition, first of all WELCOME! I'm glad you decided to join us! And second - a brief intro on the Breakthrough Radio folks. Greg & Dave Isaac host the show and are huge Coyotes fans, supporters, Coalition members and Coyotes season ticket holders. They are avid hockey people and do a great job of supporting not only the team - but the Coalition's efforts as well.

The Agenda:
At 3:00pm Darcy Olson of the Goldwater Institute has agreed to call in and speak about the Coyotes situation.
The hosts will be asking her those unanswered questions we've all been wanting to know - so you don't want to miss it!

At 3:15pm Julie Frisoni, the City of Glendale's Assistant Deputy City Manager and myself will be on the show
Ms. Frisoni is going to be there to discuss the legality of the deal that the city has in place with Mr. Hulsizer. I will be there in representation of the Coalition and to add my two cents, ask questions, answer your questions, provide comic relief... whatever comes up :)

If you would like to come down to the radio station, Dave has invited all Coyotes supporters to come and join in on the discussion. This would be a great opportunity for us to let Goldwater hear our opinions. They will also be taking calls throughout the show - so if you can't come down to the studio, you are welcome to call in and voice your support for the City and the Coyotes deal.

The station's address is: 2800 N. 44th Street Suite 100, Phoenix, AZ

I hope you can all at least tune in (you can listen online) - if not join us in the studio!

Best,
Heather McWhorter
President, The Coyotes Coalition

  1. Nice site!So how long do you give the franchise to be there in glendale? Here in Canada we always hear so much turmoil surrounding the team and yet if you look at how the crowd supports it's team you would expect things to be great!

  2. I love how passionate you are about this. And THANK YOU for pointing out that I did not clarify how to pronounce the word. Here goes (and I also updated the post):
    "Scheiße Verlierer"
(pronounced: Sch-eye-zah Ver-leer-er, but said all together)
I thought it might come in handy

  4. Found the link where Goldwater was getting nervous about GWI actions. He didn't want them to use his name for political moves, education only. Someone should point this out to GWI, that they are not representing what Goldwater intended for this institute and remove their quote "with Barry Goldwater's blessing" from their charity navigator link.

  5. I read on some old hockey post that Barry Goldwater Jr. is on GWI's board of director. Has anyone try to confirm this or get an interview for his thoughts on this? GWI's current actions are not what his father had envisioned for this institute when he lent his name.
