There Was Much Crapping on the Ice in Vancouver Last Night...

The crap calls on Carcillo and Sauer killed us last night. And ya know... I really, really, really want to blame that loss entirely on the refs. Really. But the fact of the matter is that we just needed one goal to tie it up through-out the entire game & we just couldn't get it. The PK was great & Bryzgalov played like a mad-goalie. Against the best goal-tender in the league, he held his own quite impressively stopping 31 of the 32 shots he faced. I'm normally not a Bryz fan but he's starting to win me over, slowly but surely. The D-men were ON IT last night. Shout-out to Kurt Sauer who stopped two shots with his stick. That was just beautiful! Kurt owned last night. But where were the forwards?

The Murray-Fedoruk-Carcillo line was the best line on the ice last night. They got out there and gave it their all, the rest of the forwards looked... lost. Our top guys really let Bryz down last night. We had stellar goal-tending going on, the D-men were on it and the fourth liners were playing their hearts out. But our top goal scorers let us down. Doaner? OlliCoyote? Mueller? For Shame... You've all got to show up on the same night in order to get a win.... (P.S. Hockey Friends: It was my boy Murray who thought he was the puck. Party on Garth!) :D

  1. Yah, the whole first line was invisible. Doan usually isn't invisible but he was no where to be found last night.

And this is why I am not sold on Jokinen yet. He plays a great game (MN) but then disappears the next few. I am seeing a pattern developing and I don't like it.

  2. Regarding last night's game- I always get a little concerned when it looks like the other team is on the Power Play. Which is how the Canucks looked for the first period. But by the end of it, I was satisfied with the Yotes loss. They made some mistakes that the Canucks were able to capitalize on. But they played hard. They got crap calls. And karma will eventually throw some crap calls to our opponents.

Regarding the Jokster, I really like him. I don't know if its the appeal of his shiny bald head, or the fact that he currently has 4 goals and 7 assists to Doan’s 7 goals and 5 assists. That sounds numerically strong to me.
